Download the latest AppImage file from https://lmstudio.ai
To extract the LM Studio AppImage, allowing you to access its contents and potentially modify them, follow these steps:
1. **Open a terminal:** Access your Linux terminal interface.
2. **Navigate to the AppImage directory:** Use the `cd` command to go to the directory where your LM Studio AppImage file is saved (e.g., `cd ~/Downloads`).
3. **Make the AppImage executable (if needed):** If the file isn't already executable, grant it the necessary permissions with `chmod +x LM-Studio-*.AppImage` (replace "*" with the actual filename).
4. **Extract the AppImage contents:** Run the following command, replacing "LM-Studio-*.AppImage" with the actual filename: `./LM-Studio-*.AppImage --appimage-extract`.
This command will create a new directory named `squashfs-root` in your current working directory. This directory will contain the extracted contents of the LM Studio AppImage.
You will need to run the following to set the right permissions.
```
sudo chown root:root squashfs-root/chrome-sandbox
sudo chmod 4755 squashfs-root/chrome-sandbox
````
runlmstudio.sh
```
/home/miker/lmstudio/squashfs-root/lm-studio
``` |
